News from Nikon today. They have released a new lens here just before PMA. The new lens is a 35mm F1.8 it is made for the DX format sensors but can of course be used in crop mode on the D3 and D3X.
No doubt though that this lens is aimed at the consumer market, using the crop sensor cameras. The 35mm will equal to 52,5mm in 35mm film format. This new lens gives the crop sensor cameras a low light prime at about the 50mm.
The 35mm features Nikon’s silent wave motor (SWM) that gives fast autofocus without any noisy parts. The out of focus blur should be pretty good due to the seven-blade rounded diaphragm.
